In January 2023, the Zhenjiang New District Science and Technology Innovation and Talent Work Leading Group Office announced the results of the 2022 Zhenjiang New District "Jinshan Talent" Program "Chuishan" special selection. Dr. Nie Yijing, a leading talent in science and technology research and development, was successfully selected and funded by government venture capital. Dr. Nie Yijing, 37 years old, PhD in Chemistry from Nanjing University, his main research direction is polymer materials. So far, he has published more than 80 SCI papers in academic journals at home and abroad, of which nearly half are papers in Zone 1 and Zone 2, and 2 papers were selected as highly cited papers; 3 national invention patents were authorized; a National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund was completed, he presided over a general project of National Natural Science Foundation of China and three horizontal cooperation projects with enterprises.
This time we declare the project "environmental protection ultra-fast self-repair water-based polyurethane research and development and industrialization", belongs to the new materials sector. Polyurethane polymer materials have the advantages of wear resistance, high temperature resistance, good adhesion, easy processing, and favorable price. However, some polyurethanes have poor water resistance and heat resistance, and need to be modified by specific methods to achieve optimization. Waterborne polyurethane (WPU) uses water as the dispersion medium, which avoids the shortcomings of traditional organic solvents such as serious pollution and harm to human health, while saving a lot of organic solvents and greatly reducing costs. With the continuous improvement of people's awareness of environmental protection, environmental regulations are becoming more and more perfect, waterborne polyurethane has become a hot spot of concern, based on its not easy to burn, high safety, easy to modify the advantages, is widely used in coatings, adhesives, fabric finishing agents and coating agents.
In the process of applying for the project, we deeply felt the state's support for innovation and scientific research. R & D requires a lot of investment, and the process is extremely difficult, but we believe that our direction is correct. No matter how difficult the process is, it cannot stop our steps.
